Dr. Amy Merenda conducted my daughter’s initial ADHD assessment, and I am incredibly grateful for her thoughtful and compassionate approach. She truly saw my daughter’s strengths while also carefully identifying the areas where she needed support. Dr. Merenda even provided a copy of the report ahead of our meeting, which allowed me the time and space to review it and come prepared with questions—something she warmly welcomed and accommodated in a way that worked for our family. Her understanding, openness, and commitment to meaningful parent participation made the process far less overwhelming and helped me clearly understand what my daughter needed. I especially appreciated her respect for the IEP process and her thoughtful consideration of my child’s ongoing learning needs. I was referred to Dr Merenda as a 504 Plan Advocate. She helped me navigate the challenging waters of requesting and creating a 504 Plan for my son. I could not have accomplished this without her help. I later joined her book club and it has been an insightful and helpful experience, both the books and the connections made in the club. I strongly recommend Dr Merenda for any parent with a student who struggles in school.
