Dr. Nguyen is a unique and special person, and her practice reflects those traits. She is energetic, curious, compassionate, smart, witty, and dedicated to helping me. It’s rare for me to find a physician that is willing to navigate and absorb the oftentimes extensive amount of information that I provide to them. I work hard to understand myself via my patterns, habits, and behaviors. Dr. Nguyen spends all the time required to listen to my specific challenges and helps me dissect some of the underlying causes while offering insightful ideas for improvement. I sometimes spend many days preparing for my sessions with her that can easily include multipage and highly detailed documents of my notes and agenda. Dr. Nguyen reads all the information I provide and uses it to help guide both medication options as well as non-drug therapies. Unlike many psychiatrists, Dr. Nguyen is not bound by what I feel are at times the “hysteria of the moment” around certain drugs or classes of drugs. Instead, she listens to my personal experiences with medications I’ve used in the past and honors my analysis of those medications and their usefulness or lack of usefulness. Dr. Nguyen is flexible and curious about medication management. She makes recommendations based on many factors including her experiences with other patients, educational knowledge, current research, and my input. Together we agree on medication by balancing potential, or known, benefits with any short-term side effects or possible long-term issues. Anyone that has tried to find a quality mix of medications understands the challenges and frustrations. Dr. Nguyen’s openness to my input on medications not only empowers me in the decision process but eliminates the feeling of being trapped or limited by what I’ve found to be unnecessary and unhelpful rigidness of other psychiatrists. One of the primary reasons I see Dr. Nguyen is to help with insomnia, which in my case is waking too early in the morning and not being able to stay asleep or falling back to sleep. She’s worked hard and creatively to help me with drug and non-drug solutions that when combined are working for me! Anyone that suffers from insomnia knows the incredible value of a good night’s sleep. Sometimes insomnia solutions are a bit obvious and easy, but other times they can be a bit more complex. But the prize of sleeping well is so wonderful whether the solution is relatively quick or if it requires work, patience, and experimentation. In either case, Dr. Nguyen can help. Besides being outstanding in her field, Dr. Nguyen is also a super nice, interesting, and open person. I look forward to my sessions with her as our conversations often weave through various topics in addition to the specific agenda of the session. Her insights into things specific to me or broader humanity are often distinctive and intellectually stimulating. I always leave our sessions with new outlooks, fresh insights, and a stronger sense of wellbeing. The biggest compliment that I can give Dr. Nguyen is that I referred someone very close to me to her! I know this person’s life will be improved via their interactions and work with Dr. Nguyen. As I've aged, I cannot eat all the foods I once did, especially restaurant meals. The connection between my digestion and sleeping is direct. If I eat at a restaurant, it's almost a guarantee that I will sleep poorly. Dr. Nguyen suggested I do some testing to see if we could figure out the source of my problem. After taking the test, we had a report that had a nice summary section of 5 key aspects: maldigestion, inflammation, dysbiosis, metabolic imbalance, and infection. For the categories where I had scores indicating a need for improvement, the report provided an overview of items that could address the deficiency. Dr. Nguyen created a simple plan of action and specific recommendations for products and supplements that I could add to my diet. All were available for purchase at Amazon. The results of taking these products is excellent and they worked quickly!

Dr. Nguyen is fricken wonderful! I'm 36 and went for an evaluation because I had been struggling with reactivity and constant/chaotic thoughts. She facilitated such a welcoming and easy-going space to talk about anything without judgement. It felt like more of a conversation than some overly sterile medical evaluation, and by the end, she had incredibly valuable insights and recommendations thought felt valid and immediately helpful. I would, and have, recommend her for a balanced approach toward your well-being.
