We cannot say enough wonderful things about Empower Psychological Services. From the very beginning, they approached our 10-year-old with so much passion, patience, and understanding that it immediately put at ease. As parents, we were very cautious about finding someone who truly understands and affirms neurodivergent experiences, and these ladies nailed it! Their ability to connect with our kiddo was nothing short of remarkable. They took the time to listen, to observe, and to understand—not just rushing to conclusions, but truly seeing our son for who he is. The diagnosis process felt more like a collaborative journey rather than a clinical assessment. What stood out most was their commitment to neurodivergent-affirming practices. Dr. Haygeman provided resources and guidance that align with our values, ensuring that our kid feels empowered and celebrated for his unique strengths and perspective. Emily aka Dr. Haygeman is the best at what she does. I appreciate her working with me to help me, and her eval was extremely thorough and professional, but not in a way that reinforces the ugly power dynamic I often encounter in psychology and psychiatry. Emily is really special and provides so many resources in the evaluation so that you feel supported after receiving a diagnosis of any kind. All PsyD's should strive to be more like Emily.
