I started seeing Dr. Richards when my parents and I sought help for my first diagnosis at 14 years old (I'm 26 now), and I am so thankful that we found him. It has been a rough, bumpy road for my mental health, from abusive/toxic relationship, becoming a mother and navigating motherhood with mental illnesses, debilitating and dark depression, and much more. But it has helped so much that Dr. Richards has always been incredibly helpful, kind, knowledgeable, understanding, nonjudgmental, and reassuring. For as long as I can remember, he has given me multiple treatment options to proceed with, and ensured that I had a say and was comfortable with my decisions. When I've struggled financially, he has done everything he could to make sure I could get the medication I needed. I also greatly appreciate that he takes the time to ask about how my family is doing, and asks me to say hello to them, let them know that he thinks of them, and that he wishes them well. I also want to acknowledge Kim the receptionist, and Kim the nurse. Kim the receptionist has been at Greenville Psychiatry for as long as I can remember, and she has always been so sweet! We've had some lovely conversations, I always enjoy speaking with her. I only started personally speaking to Kim the nurse in more recent times, but she too is a pleasure to talk to, and takes the time to assist me with my needs to the best of her ability. It makes sense that Dr. Richards has staff members that embody what I value about him as a psychiatrist. Anytime anyone I know is in need of mental health services, I always recommend Greenville Psychiatry. Even if they aren't accepting new patients, they have been great for provider recommendations (such as therapists). 10/10, there's nowhere else I would rather be going!
