I underwent a neuropsychological evaluation with Dr. Anderson. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. Despite a well-documented childhood ADHD diagnosis, strong family history, and evidence of autism spectrum traits, he dismissed key aspects of my neurodivergence and instead diagnosed me with Somatic Symptom Disorder and Health Anxiety—labels I believe are inaccurate and harmful (and my care team agrees and is recommending a second opinion). He did not administer important assessments, such as the CAT-Q, which I had to complete on my own afterward to provide a fuller picture. Additionally, Dr. Anderson was only present for the interview portions and did not observe my behavior during testing, calling into question the thoroughness of his evaluation. Dr. Anderson also dismissed my chronic pain as psychosomatic, despite subsequent medical findings proving cause for my pain. He questioned my medically confirmed diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, suggesting I was only “believing” I had it. He also made the claim that ADHD is over-diagnosed, when statistically it’s under-diagnosed, especially in females. I should have saved myself the inaccurate diagnoses and walked out the moment those words came out of his mouth, because I knew I wasn’t going to get an unbiased assessment. Moreover, though not a medical doctor, he recommended I discontinue my medically supervised mediation……a position not supported by my multiple specialists across neurology, immunology, rheumatology, and autoimmune psychiatry (I spoke with my autoimmune psychiatrist after this assessment and he did not advise I stop at this time). This suggests a bias with unfounded claims. Overall, I found Dr. Anderson’s approach dismissive, inadequately comprehensive, and potentially damaging to my health and well-being. I do not recommend his services without careful consideration. He does not seem to be up to date on evidence based practices and trauma informed care.

I visited Dr. Anderson for the first time to get an evaluation but he was dismissive and rude. Instead of working with me to resolve my concerns or suggesting solutions he gave me the option to pay out of pocket and said there was nothing else he could do. He didn’t smile not once during our appointment and he talked to me in a patronizing manner rather than with respect. This was by far my worst experience with a healthcare provider/ physician. Overall, it seemed he didn’t care about my concerns and just wanted me to pay without giving any other option or advice.
