On 11/16/2025, I discovered five separate charges of $62 — totaling $310 — withdrawn from my checking account without my authorization. These charges were for invoices from last year, despite the fact that I have not had a visit with this practice in months, and those invoices had already been paid. It has now been well over a week, and I am still waiting for this issue to be fully resolved. The lack of urgency and accountability has been extremely disappointing. It is completely unprofessional — and deeply concerning — for a mental health practice to withdraw funds from a patient’s account without consent, especially for outdated invoices that were already settled. In today's economy, where every dollar matters, having over $300 taken unexpectedly is both stressful and unacceptable. To make matters worse, I was initially told that I “must have approved” these withdrawals, rather than the practice taking responsibility for the error and correcting it promptly. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to Makin Wellness. Buyer beware — double-check your billing and be cautious, because what happened to me felt careless, misleading, and incredibly unprofessional.

This place seemed promising at first, but sadly, it left me feeling disappointed and in my own head even more than before. I’m not sure if it was due to a lack of organization or lack of care, but after I asked to switch therapists—following a moment where the therapist questioned whether I was "bringing something up just to have something else to talk about"—I never heard back. (Not only is that unprofessional, but girl seriously? You think I want to chat for fun in this economy???) My care specialist stopped reaching out after I shared what I was looking for in a therapist and didn’t respond when I followed up for an update. I tried calling the office multiple times to figure out what was going on but never received any follow-up. As of today, my status in their system still shows as active, even though I haven’t heard from anyone in months. If I had the choice, I would have never tried this place out so this experience wouldn’t have stuck with me for as long as it did. *I want to emphasize, however, that this is just my personal experience and doesn’t reflect the practice or therapists as a whole. This is not to deter anyone reading this from seeking help. I was just unfortunate in my situation and wanted to share it in case anybody else went through similar. Thankfully, I’ve found a therapist elsewhere since then, and have began my healing process with them.
