I was really hopeful about starting care with Rural Psychiatry Associates, but my first appointment was disappointing. The provider was difficult to understand, and most of the visit focused on repeating information I had already shared on the intake form. There were no follow-up questions or discussion about my background or goals, which made the appointment feel rushed and impersonal. Although I understand certain medical steps like an EKG or drug screening may be required, I wish there had been more time spent understanding my full situation before focusing on that. I left feeling discouraged and not confident continuing care here. I hope this feedback helps the clinic improve communication and patient experience moving forward.

no complaints about the practitioners, per say, it's more the staff and management. First off, they have at least 2 staff members that answer phones that are pretty rude. One hung up on me today in the middle of my check-in because my 3 year old asked me a question and I took 5 seconds to answer her. I called back and I said did you hang up on me, and she said no, it was someone else, which was a lie. Also, they cancel appointments and offer a reschedule time 3 weeks later, and when my son is supposed to be seen monthly, it kinda screws thing up. I guess they have some doctors that see telehealth patients in Alaska aparently, and they get their schedules for that a week ahead, and then they call back the week before sometimes to cancel even though we had scheduled a month out. And they don't apologize, they just kind of say that's the way it is. And what's up with the door being locked. We wait to get initially for several minutes, wondering if I have the right time, but we finally got inside and it was ok, but then later I went to my car to get my wallet for my ID and I have to ring the doorbell again and I can see through the window that they just sit at the computer and get to the door when it's a convenient pause in their work. It's just strange and makes for a pretty uncomfortable atmosphere.
