Not sure if the NP I spoke to was brand new to psych or just incompetent. She had to look up a basic antidepressant during the appointment like she had never heard of it. She repeatedly mispronounced a very common and easy drug name. She didn’t understand basic dosing differences between instant and extended release. She didn’t seem to understand that all antidepressants come with a black label warning. She couldn’t prescribe a basic antidepressant until she talked to a supervisor. Then it took her over a week to even send the medication to the pharmacy, and one was the incorrect dosage. Honestly I wish I could’ve told insurance to not even pay them. It was a very discouraging appointment.
